How I Started Out With Virtue Map

I frequently see patients confronted with severe procrastination problems. They want a more productive personal and professional life but can’t seem to make the necessary changes. Bad habits and self-doubt lead to chronic procrastination that engulfs their lives.

Many people have the privilege of cognitive behavioral therapy to treat procrastination problems, but what happens to those who don’t? Self-help apps are an accessible type of anonymous therapy and are growing in popularity. However, not all of them are worth your time – or finances.

That’s why I decided to review the Virtue Map app. The sign-up process was quick and simple, with a clear user interface and a charming color scheme. I was invited to answer a short questionnaire at the start, which evaluated my productivity levels, reasons for procrastination, and its impact on my day-to-day life.

In my eyes, the Virtue Map community is a useful tool to help procrastinators support one another in fulfilling their life goals and helps keep you accountable if you start to stray from your goals.

Coaches typically cost around $75–150 per hour. If this is affordable, you may find them helpful and educational. 

What I Liked About Virtue Map

Virtue Map has its fair share of benefits. Here are a few things that stood out to me in particular:

#1 The program is tailored to your needs

The initial survey and personality test ensure your needs are met. If you answer the questions honestly, you’ll get the right support that’s tailored to your specific situation and personal goals. You’ll benefit from a personalized plan that suits your individual habits and customs, which I believe helps you stay on track and achieve your goals.

#2 It uses science-backed methods to deal with procrastination

Virtue Map aims to reduce your procrastination by helping you change the way you think. This is known as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and is a proven way to reduce stress, improve your mood, and stop self-destructive behavior. By incorporating many of the same techniques found in CBT therapy sessions, my patients can feel the same benefits without having to pay for therapy.

#3 It’s easy to follow

People are more likely to procrastinate if they have large tasks ahead of them. Unlike other more complex mental health apps out there, Virtue Map provides digestible bits of information to make your daily tasks seem more manageable and attainable. This also contributes to reducing stress and anxiety.

From a medical perspective, a strong support network is key to achieving your health goals. Virtue Map provides users with a comprehensive support system from both professionals and peers through its community feature. Success coaches offer constructive guidance, while fellow app users provide support if you’re struggling to stay on track.

That said, the majority of peer support is offered through Facebook, which can prove distracting and problematic for those looking to reduce their use of social media sites.

What I Didn’t Like About Virtue Map

The benefits of Virtue Map seem exceedingly positive. However, there are also downsides to the platform.

#1 The three-month program might seem overwhelming

Despite its positive features, Virtue Map only works if you’re willing to help yourself. It’s a little bit of a catch-22 because it’s hard to start a Virtue Map plan if you’re constantly procrastinating, but you can’t stop procrastinating until you’ve started a program.

As a result, the three-month programs offered by Virtue Map can appear overwhelming to prospective subscribers. Committing to a task is a difficult thing for chronic procrastinators, so Virtue Map’s plans may be off-putting to those looking for an easier route to overcoming procrastination.

#2 It sometimes lacks visual content and depth

Virtue Map is great for those who don’t mind reading, but there is a distinct lack of video content on the platform, which can be problematic for those with ADHD

Additionally, the content can sometimes feel a little basic since certain information they give you can seem like simple common sense. However, it’s always worth revising the fundamentals, even if you knew them before.

#3 You can’t test it out

Unfortunately, there is no free trial for Virtue Map, so prospective users will have to purchase a plan before they can test the service out. 

It’s also somewhat difficult to cancel your subscription after you’ve bought a plan, and you won’t be refunded for any months you don’t use. However, this may be a good thing if you’re looking to stick to a program for the long term.
