Getting started with My Fasting Challenge was pretty simple and began with a 2-minute quiz. It asked me questions about my gender before moving on to my familiarity with fasting and then learning about my food and meal time preferences.

As with any weight loss program, it’s important that I provide a balanced view of what My Fasting Challenge offers so that you can make an informed decision on whether this is the one for you.

Read on to see what I think could be improved about this program.

#1 Doesn’t track vitamin and mineral intake

Although it provides you with meal plans and recommended calorie intake, My Fasting Challenge doesn’t ensure that your diet incorporates all of the essential nutrients.

I find that many clients who come to me after attempting a low-calorie fasting diet on their own suffer from nutrient deficiency, which can lead to fatigue, bad gut health, and even hair loss. It’s, therefore, important to incorporate a range of fruit, vegetables, and whole grains into your diet to boost your intake of essential vitamins and minerals.

#2 Some weight loss predictions may seem unrealistic

After completing the quiz, I was given a recommended calorie intake of 1,200–1,350 calories per day. I was shocked to receive such a strict recommendation, as this is actually the number of calories recommended for a child aged 4–6 years old.

To improve the program, My Fasting Challenge should make their recommended calorie intakes more realistic; otherwise, users may struggle to stick to them long-term and may not see the predicted weight loss results. 

Also, it’s important to note that an intermittent fasting challenge isn’t safe for everyone. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, as well as children and younger adults, should avoid this program, as they need more nutrients to support growth. 

It also isn’t suitable for those with low blood pressure, as fasting could result in side effects like nausea, dizziness, and fainting episodes.

#3 Some recipes are too complex

The program is aimed at beginners, yet I found that some of the recipes required slightly more advanced cooking skills and expensive ingredients, such as prime beef and smoked salmon. Some of the ingredients were difficult to find in the grocery store too. 

This may put some users off sticking to the plan, especially those who are short on time or on a budget. However, My Fasting Challenge does provide users with a wide range of nutritious recipe ideas that can be prepared in bulk, so you can always have an option ready to go on those jam-packed days.
