Is Vegetable Oil Keto-Friendly?

If you are on the keto diet, it is recommended to avoid vegetable oil due to the unhealthy ingredients. Even though it contains 0 grams of net carbs, the oil will disrupt ketosis. This is because the unhealthy ingredients found in vegetable oil will increase inflammation, promote blood clotting, and constrict your blood vessels.

  • You should avoid this product to maintain ketosis, protect the heart from blood clots, and feel generally healthy on the diet.
  • Of course, vegetable oil doesn’t hold any carbs, but that doesn’t mean you should consume it when losing stubborn weight. A clean ketogenic diet involves eating nutrient-dense foods that don’t harm your health in the long term. 
  • There are other oils you can use while eating low-carb foods. Some of these include coconut, avocado, and olive oil. These contain unsaturated fats that encourage high energy levels, especially if you’re someone who likes to exercise regularly.

  • The fats in vegetable oil oxidize under heat and trigger more inflammation. This could damage your arteries and increase the risk of a heart attack. Some people think that consuming more fats is great on the ketogenic diet, but not when they offer harmful risks. 
  • Include good fats such as salmon, avocados, flax seeds, coconuts, olives, and nuts. 
  • Omega-3 fatty acids are much healthier than omega-6. They lower blood pressure, strengthen the heart, and provide anti-inflammatory properties. 
  • Vegetable oil can be safe in moderation. However, if you’re losing weight on the ketogenic diet, it’s not worth consuming this product. Many experts believe that this oil has “no place” on the diet and should be avoided when improving your health.
