Are Nectarines Keto-Friendly?

Nectarines are not keto-friendly due to their high carbohydrate content. You should avoid or strictly limit how often you eat nectarines when following the ketogenic diet if you want to remain in ketosis and say goodbye to that stubborn body fat.

  • Nectarines are best kept off your keto fruit list. A 100-gram serving of nectarines has 7.92 grams of net carbs. It is simply too high for this diet that requires you to keep carb consumption to a minimum.
  • You should avoid buying nectarines when grocery shopping for keto. These juicy fruits are very delicious and easy to overeat. 
  • Unfortunately, you risk throwing your body out of ketosis when you consume high numbers of net carbohydrates. 
  • Fruits are generally high in carbs, but there are a few options you can still eat, like avocado and acai berries, or apricots, plums, and raspberries on occasion.

  • With just 0.28 grams of fat per 100 grams, nectarines are a very low-fat food.
  • Fat is your friend on keto because you need it to fuel your body and support ketosis. It will keep you feeling full and satisfied while calming keto flu symptoms, such as hunger, cravings, and headaches. 
  • Eating lots of healthy fats can also boost your ketone levels to speed up your journey to ketosis. The sooner you get there, the sooner you can start seeing results. 

Natural and Healthy

  • Nectarines are a peach variety packed with antioxidants and other essential vitamins and minerals. They have fiber, copper, potassium, vitamin C, and more.
  • These tasty stone fruits are a healthy addition to most diets, especially as they are low in calories and fat. Still, they will not benefit you while following keto.
