Is MiO Keto-Friendly?

MiO is classified as dirty keto because it is low in net carbs but contains harmful ingredients like acesulfame and sucralose.

Lazy Keto

  • A keto diet is ideally low in net carbs. MiO has zero net carbs but it has harmful ingredients such as acesulfame K and sucralose. MiO is therefore classified as lazy keto.
  • Lazy keto is a label for low-carb foods that contain non-keto ingredients. It is still possible for you to reach ketosis with these foods, but they might cause health problems for you in the long run.
  • It would be best to eat nutrient-dense foods that help you achieve healthy weight loss on keto. Examples of keto-friendly nutrient-dense foods are broccoli, avocado, and pecans.

Non-Keto Sweeteners

  • MiO contains non-keto sweeteners such as sucralose and acesulfame K.
  • These sweeteners are linked to detrimental health effects such as increased appetite, metabolic health problems, and weight gain.
  • It would be best to add a slice of lime or lemon to your water if you are tired of drinking plain water.

Harmful Additives

  • MiO is highly processed and contains harmful additives that may be harmful to you on keto.
  • One of the artificial additives is Blue-1 which is used for coloring food and beverages. Blue-1 is known to cause allergic reactions to some people and sometimes causes hyperactivity in children.
  • It would be best to get most of the nutrients in your foods from minimally processed keto-friendly sources. Monitor the macros and ingredients in your foods for the best results on keto.
